Weekly Watchlist 109 - Can Big Hash Survive the Gypsy Queen?

What's the story, worshippers of whitewashing warring?!

We're a week shy of Wrestling Roulette and getting into the lovely summer months. I really wish I could enjoy the weather more this week, but wildfires to the north and west of me has put everything in a gloomy, gross haze. So, I'm stuck inside watching wrestling! Oh no! Whatever will I do!?

I guess I could write about it? That sounds like a fun idea!

Chihiro Hashimoto vs. VENY
Big Hash defends her gold against the Gypsy Queen

Basic Breakdown

Y'know, sometimes I shock myself when I start to dig into a match and do some research.

With this being the third time I've wrote about Chihiro Hashimoto, I wanted to dig into her reign a bit more, especially her time against her opponent today, VENY. What I found out about both of these women shocked me, honestly.

First off, the Sendai Girls World Championship. A title that was established October 11 of 2015, making it almost 11 years old.  For a company that was established in 2006 and didn't have a single title, let alone a World title until 2015, these statistics kinda blew me away. But what really blew my hair back, was looking at the individual reigns. Let me list out the top three champions they have, going off of number of reigns alone.

-Chihiro Hashimoto

-Meiko Satomura

-Mika Iwata

Now, would you care to take a guess at how many times these ladies have reigned with said title?

Satomura and Iwata sit tied at 2 reigns a piece, not a bad statistic when you consider the length the title has been around for, yeah?

Hashimoto has held this title 6 times.

Now, that's pretty nuts, I'll admit, but it gets even crazier when you do the math.

I did some quick, fuzzy math, and came to these staggering conclusions;

Big Hash has held this title, which has been around for (at the time of writing, 07/17/2026) 3,932 days, for 3,019 days. A staggering 76.78% of the title's lifespan, or 8 combined yearsWow. Her career also started the same day this title was introduced, meaning she's been champion for over three quarters of her career. Insanity.

Something else I found out going into this match, is that Hash and VENY, going under her previous name of ASUKA (not that Asuka)has not only beaten Hashimoto before, she's beaten her for this very title and defended it against her as well! Furthermore! I learned that VENY is, so the story goes, Japan's first transgender wrestler! Maybe I should have reviewed a match of hers last month, but I only learned about that this week, oh well. Better late than never!

Bell To Bell

Circling one another, VENY makes the questionable decision to try and lock horns with the proficient wrestler, her larger frame not making it easy for her to shoot in and take Hashimoto down in any considerable way. Hash is able to shift and twist VENY around, keeping her off of her for a moment until VENY is able to use that height to knock Hash down for a moment. They both sprawl on the canvas together for a few heartbeats, with VENY kicking the champion off her as they reset in the middle.

A solid lockup has Hash push VENY into the ropes, only to get her position switched as VENY backs off the ropes, slapping Hash in the face when she breaks the hold. Trading waistlocks, writslocks, and roll throughs in the middle, a side headlock brings VENY to her knees, but she fights to the ropes, only for Hashimoto to sink down to the canvas off a rope rebound attempt, dragging VENY down with her. Getting dirty, VENY grabs the hair of Hash to break the hold, the referee being extra lenient in this championship match.

Using that to change her position, VENY traps the head and arm of Hash and takes her down to the canvas, rolling through what looks like a DDT to take top position in a mount. With open hands, she rains down slaps on Hash, who is quick to flip VENY over and assault her with slaps of her own. Nipping up from the ground and holding the hand of Hash, VENY goes to rake the eyes of Hashimoto before rebounding off the ropes to snipe her with a quick, vicious boot to the face.

Rolling to the floor goes the champion, with VENY following close behind. She goes for a moonsault off the corner, but Hash dodges and tries for a powerbomb, but VENY slips free, pulling one of the wrestlers stood around ringside in the path of a charging Hashimoto. Brandishing a chair, she cracks it across the back of Hash, the referee continuing to be lenient in the opening moments. Looking to whip Hash into the corner post, her attempt is almost countered, but she stops herself short of connecting with the post. Thinking quick, Hash charges for VENY with a lariat, only to catch the ringpost instead. Yikes.

Not the intended target! Sendai Girls

Pulling Hash up and shooting her back in the ring, VENY seizes on the right arm of Hashimoto, twisting it in the ropes and kicking it when Hash is down. With a wound created, VENY sees no reason to not focus in on it, with Hashimoto still trying to land heavy shots with the bad arm. VENY even tries a heavy forearm shot to a dazed Hashimoto, but she catches the limb and pulls her into an abdominal stretch, slowing VENY down and giving Hashimoto a chance to collect herself better.

Trying to gutwrench the challenger up, VENY fights to stay on the ground and manages to flip Hashimoto up and over herself with a suplex. Backed into the corner, Hash gets caught with a running boot, with VENY sprinting across the ring to line her up for a second, but Hash follows on her heels with explosive speed that should not be possible. Colliding with a lariat, VENY drops to her knees in the corner, with Hashimoto trying for a suplex but VENY slips around, twisting into a standing, modified bow and arrow, trapping the left arm and bending the right back at a gross angle.

Bending the fingers as she sinks deeper into the hold on the canvas, the referee is eventually forced to have VENY break the hold, but she uses the most of the referee's count in doing so.  A big kick to the arm as Hashimoto tries to pull herself to her feet gives VENY a chance to ascend to the middle rope and land a pair of boots through Hashimoto's arm as she tries to pull herself up against the ropes. Getting into a comfortable groove, VENY continues to focus on the arm, twisting it around and driving elbows into the bicep. Hash fights her way free and crashes into VENY with a lariat, but it does little to damage VENY, who easily absorbs the shot and stands firm.

A definitive "no." Sendai Girls

Rebounding off the ropes, VENY tries to collide with Hash to take her down, but the brick wall-like Hash stands firm herself, with VENY bouncing to the canvas hard. Shaking out her arm, Hash pulls VENY up and tries for a bodyslam, struggling at first before getting her up, holding her for a heartbeat, and then drilling her into the canvas. Moving quick, she lands a flipping senton before going for a cover, with VENY getting out at two.

Into the corner now and seating herself on the top, Hash waits for VENY to stand, who instead rolls out to the apron. Catching Hashimoto with a forearm shot to stun her, VENY ascends to the top to rip her down with a crazy head scissors! Trying a running kick, Hashimoto catches her boot, but VENY is able to spin around and land a back kick to knock the champion down. Back to the corner goes VENY, ascending and taking off for a moonsault, with Hashimoto only able to get her legs up to defend herself. It's an act of desperation, as she rolls away after catching VENY, not able to do anything about her opponent being sent aside.

Both women are slow to rise to their feet, with Hashimoto getting her wits about her first and taking off, landing a big spear that cuts VENY in two. Pulling her up by her hair, she winds up and cracks VENY with forearm shots, the impact lessened to an extent by the damage done to her arm, but she still swings heavy and hard. Even using the ropes for extra momentum,  Hashimoto rebounds twice, the second time allowing VENY enough time to catch her with a boot under the jaw. Lacing the champion with a series of kicks, she hits the ropes and tries for a headscissors, but Hash catches her and spikes her with a big powerbomb! Holding VENY down, she's able to get out just barely at two.

Caught and crunched. Sendai Girls

Pulling VENY up, Hashimoto pulls her up for another powerbomb, but VENY flips out with a headscissors this time, taking Hashimoto down, sending her to the floor. Acting quick, VENY takes off for the ropes, rebounding and flying with a crazy looking back-first crossbody to the floor! Again, she moves quick, climbing the corner and flying with a moonsault that crushes Hashimoto on the floor! Just insane shit here.

When Hashimoto pulls herself back into the ring, VENY catches her with another pair of feet off the middle rope, this time catching her in the chest with a dropkick. Trying again for a moonsault, VENY soars, but Hash rolls away, leaving her to land in an empty pool. Fighting on their knees now, both ladies crack each other with heavy forearm shots, with Hashimoto's wounded arm only doing so much to dampen the impact when she really, really swings for it. VENY, however, lands a stiff shot, dropping Hashimoto to the canvas like a stone.

Standing and waiting for Hashimoto to collect herself, VENY lands some stiff kicks to the head  of Hashimoto, hitting the ropes for a knee and transitioning to a cover for a close two count. Pulling Hashimoto to her feet, she hooks both arms and begins to get the champion in the air, clearly looking for a dangerous Tiger suplex to finish her off, but Hash kicks and flails out, a lariat getting twisted around into a powerbomb position, with VENY instead getting backdropped out by the more powerful Hashimoto.

More kicks from VENY now, with a crescent kick dropping Hashimoto to the canvas again, but she survives at two! Ascending the corner again, VENY gets caught by Hashimoto, clubbing her legs out from under her as she falls, landing upside-down in the corner. Hashimoto tries to crack her in half with a spear, but VENY pulls herself up, rolls over Hash's back, and catches her in a waistlock for a German suplex! Firing up to her feet, Hash again tries a lariat, but again it's twisted around into the powerbomb position, with VENY connecting with a disgusting sit out powerbomb!

Big Hash gets the big bomb! Sendai Girls

Back to the top rope, VENY flies with a quick moonsault, taking no time to when on the top, landing on Hashimoto and holding her down, but she scores only two! Back on her feet, VENY makes the universal "up yours" gesture before pulling Hash to her feet again, again hooking her for the Tiger suplex, with Hashimoto ripping her way free and shooting around for a big, big German suplex!

Best protect ya neck. Sendai Girls

Hashimoto charges VENY for another lariat, but VENY drops and gets her in a body scissors, rolling her back and trapping her right arm in a pretty unique looking armbar on the canvas. Hashimoto struggles, twisting and rolling on the canvas, eventually able to get in position to get her foot on the bottom rope. In an act of desperation, VENY drives her head into Hashimoto's arm with shoot headbutts, over and over dribbling her own head off the canvas effectively with each shot.  Hell, she even headbutts Hash straight up when she stands to confront her, dropping her back to her ass.

Move Of The Match

Staggering from the self-inflicted damage, VENY is unable to stop the fast-approaching Hashimoto, who cleaves her in half with a massive lariat. Again, Hashimoto takes off for the ropes, colliding with another huge lariat, this time covering off the shot, but VENY survives, bridging out defiantly. Pulling VENY up, Hashimoto doesn't fuck around, drilling her with a powerbomb and laying across her legs for the pin, but she survives at two!

Home run! Sendai Girls

Getting a waistlock as she struggles to her feet, Hash sends VENY over for a German suplex, but VENY is able to land on her feet! Catching a charging Hashimoto, she spikes her with a big driver, holding her legs for two! A bridging pin has Hash down for two again, with both ladies rolling to opposing corners before charging to the middle, with Hashimoto ducking VENY's lariat and catching her in a waistlock, taking her over for her signature German suplex hold named Albright. Holding VENY down, she manages to score three, winning the match.

This is absolutely bonkers. Sendai Girls

Match Time: 22:54

What a crazy fun match this was. The psychology of Hashimoto's heavy-handed offence being weakened by VENY's focus on the arm was smart, and she did a great job at being a believable underdog in peril for most of the match, with VENY working well on top here. They really picked up the pace in the last third of this match, hitting each other with massive bombs and going for broke around every single turn. I remember watching the final stretch of this match with my mouth wide open, I was blown away by some of the shit they were pulling out. Amazing work from both women.

★★★★★ — Incredible Match
