May was a rougher month for yours truly, as I've mentioned a few times, but I was still able to find and reward some quality matches with a place in the Match of the Year tournament!

What's the story, patrons of parroting pummelling?

A rather difficult week for yours truly, it was a real challenge for me to find something I wanted to review this week. I lucked out after finishing The Lapsed Fan's Starrcade Memorial Tour (for the second time) and deciding that I'd dig around in some WCW classics for a review this week. Match one of a three match series (maybe a 3 week review series?) was my choice for the week, which proved to be pretty fun! Maybe not a bona-fide banger, but fun regardless!

Matches of the Month - May 2026

Well, May certainly was a month that happened! 

Speaking for me personally, it was a difficult month for my mental health. I felt like I was pretty burnt out after the heavy wrestling month that was April and didn't really have the desire to watch as much this month as I did previously. I'd like to say that I'm in an upswing, but I won't lie and say things are better when they aren't.

I'm also enjoying the warmer weather more, spending time away with my wife and family, and putting my nose to the dirt better about applying to jobs. So it's safe to say that I don't always have hours and hours on hand to watch wrestling.

But! I did still watch some fantastic matches this month!  So let's not dwell on the negatives and instead focus on the very best matches from May of this year.

What's new, clientele of cosplaying competition?!

A busy week means we'll be pulling from the modern day for this week's iteration of the Watchlist. I didn't even get a chance to dig around for anything else, as soon as I saw this match, I knew it was going to be discussed as the week's feature. It's just that good.
