February is in the books, friends! 2 months down!
Maybe not the most packed-to-the-rafters month for stellar matches, this month did deliver a few exceptional matches that will be talked about and remembered for many months to come. Let's get into them, shall we?
Tommaso Ciampa vs. Roderick Strong vs. Claudio Castagnoli - AEW Collision - 02/07/2026
Ciampa's first TNT Title defence came in the form of a three way dance and one that I would be booking in any Universe mode without a second thought. Fast paced and hard hitting, all three men were in top form in this match and taking it to each other with unmatched intensity. I loved how well all three worked both together and against one another, creating a fun and unique match dynamic. The finish was shocking and came from out of nowhere, which is something that I'm really enjoying with how they are building up Ciampa right now. Great stuff from all three men.
Tommaso Ciampa vs. Kyle Fletcher - AEW Dynamite - 02/11/2026
Setting out to regain his TNT Title, Fletcher has a legitimate match of the year contender with Ciampa on this episode of Dynamite. A match I was well and truly excited for, simply from the idea of two of my favourite wrestlers squaring off, and eventually had my excitement not only match, but exceeded. The chemistry between Fletcher and Ciampa was unreal, with Fletcher either able to pull something out of Ciampa that hasn't been seen since he was in NXT or the shackles finally being released from him as he runs free inside an AEW ring. Regardless, these two had an incredible match that kept increasing the tension and excitement with every passing minute. I'm sad this was the end of Ciampa's TNT Title reign, ending at just 11 days, but we got this match out of it, so its a small loss.
Kris Statlander vs. Thekla - Strap Match - AEW Dynamite - 02/11/2026
I once heard someone describe Thekla as "having the personality of someone who is 7 foot tall inside of a 5 foot body" and I've never looked at her the same way again. Her larger than life presence is always on display but was maximized in this match as she challenged Stat- I mean, Straplander for her Women's World Championship. Hard hitting and brutal, both women were giving it their all in this match and treated this like a PPV outing. I love getting to see random, fun stipulations like this on TV sometimes and this match was no exception, especially with Thekla winning the Title. Fantastic work all around.
Jon Moxley vs. Konosuke Takeshita - AEW Grand Slam Australia 2026 - 02/14/2026
Going the distance in a Continental Classic rematch, Moxley and Takeshita didn't let up on each other from the moment the bell rang to start the match, until the second bell rang to signify a time limit draw. Hard hitting, fast paced, and as exciting as ever, this match helped make this TV special feel extra special with the promise, and almost realization, of a championship changing hands. I really enjoy what the Continental Championship brings to the table, and I really hope we don't get too many "waving of the time limit" rematches down the line, thus making the title feel like just another belt. It makes sense for these two, especially after how close this match got near the end, and I'm fired up to see how fun their match at Revolution will be in March.
Kyle Fletcher vs. Mark Briscoe - Ladder Match - AEW Grand Slam Australia 2026 - 02/14/2026
I can't help but feel like I have every match between Briscoe and Fletcher on these matches of the month lists, and every time I ask myself, "what more can be said?" These two are wrestling soulmates, destined to dance forever. This may, for now, be their last encounter, but having match 7 as a ladder match was a fantastic way to end things. I loved their intensity, creativity, and seeming desire to try and kill each other in the craziest ways possible. This was loads of fun. I'm sad we won't be getting Briscoe/Fletcher 8 too, at least not for a few more months.
Titan vs. Mascara Dorada - CMLL Viernes Espectacular - 02/13/2026
Featured in Weekly Watchlist 088 - Excitement in Arena Mexico!
Kenny Omega vs. Swerve Strickland - AEW Dynamite - 02/18/2026
Omega and Swerve?! For the very first time? On free TV?! Say it ain't so! Man, this match was bound to be exceptional and it lived up to every single ounce of hype. A truly stellar main event that could have main evented any AEW PPV show without a moments hesitation. Omega looked great in this match, but this was Swerve's chance to shine, honestly. He ate Omega up in this match and further established that he is, without any shadow of a doubt, a main event player in AEW. His heel turn after the bell further established Swerve, giving some much needed change to the roster and putting someone else on the heel side of the main event ledger. Great stuff from both men.
Trevor Lee vs. LaBron Kozone vs. Jake Something vs. Calvin Tankman - DPW Carolina Classic 2025 - 09/14/2025
In a promotion that tends to feature the quicker, more nimble indie wrestlers, having three of the four biggest bastards on your roster square off alongside a shitbag heel in Trevor Lee was a fun way to end the 2025 edition of the Carolina Classic. The simplest, and best, way to describe this match is this "big meaty men slappin' meat." That's it. Something, Kozone, and Tankman all running into one another and testing the limits of the ring to see what will break first, their bodies, the ring, or the earth's crust. A super fun main event.
Jack Perry, The Rascalz & The Young Bucks vs. FTR & The Demand - Mile High Madness Anything Goes Ten Man Tag Team Match - AEW Dynamite - 02/25/2026
The baby brother to AEW's signature match type "Anarchy in the Arena," this match was straight up bonkers. A wild match that had action and excitement everywhere you looked for the entire time. It didn't let up for a second and kept you excited and engaged from moment to moment. Everyone involved was on a mission to have one of the craziest, most fun matches on Dynamite and they more than exceeded with the delivery of this match. It should go without saying, but Jack Perry's use of a dust-filled house vac gave us one of the most memorable moments in Dynamite as he brained Toa Liona with it, creating a mushroom cloud of dust. This match was so much fun.
Until next month, friends!
Take it easy.
