Weekly Watchlist 063 - August 24 2025

What's new, lovers of ludicrous leglocks?

You'll be getting a bunch of one match reviews for the foreseeable future. I do plan on going back to two, unless everyone prefers a single review of course, but with a wedding looming close and everything piling on me all at once, I can't take the time to write two reviews along with everything else I do. I'll also be taking this month off for Five Star Fridays, which is something I'll be doing for the foreseeable as well. 3 Five Stars in a row, a month off, then 3 more. Rinse repeat. Gives me time to work on other projects as well as workshop new Five Star posts.

With all that out of the way, let's get into this weeks review, shall we?

Weekly Watchlist 061 - August 10 2025

Welcome, welcome! Fellow fanatics for feigned fury, what's new?

This was a rough week for yours truly, a lot of stuff happening all at once, a complete lack of motivation, and deadlines getting nearer and nearer had me in a bit of a tailspin for a few days. But I knew I needed to stay consistent, I had to stay the course. If there's one thing I've wanted to stay consistent with, it's writing this blog. And I will. I won't let this fall apart on me.

So, read on and find out what match made it into the Wrestling Vault this week!

Weekly Watchlist 060 - August 3 2025 - Wrestling Roulette

What's the story, students of spandex skirmishes?

Welcome one and all to another exciting edition of...

The Weekly Watchlist Wrestling Roulette!

Hard to believe I've done 6 of these already, 60 whole weeks. Where has the time gone? As always, I've included the rules of Wrestling Roulette in the Weekly Roundup section for those of you that are just jumping on the train for the first time. If you want to do some catching up, I've tagged all Wrestling Roulette posts so you can dig through the Vault and read just those posts if that's what you're feeling like.

With that out of the way, there's something else I'd like to address. Something a bit more serious and dear to me, personally.

I’ve heard the rumblings recently. No criticism escapes me and I keep all of the receipts. Depression “syndrome” as I’ve heard some uneducated people refer to it is as real as it gets, and it makes doing even things that I love extremely difficult. But therapy tells me that doing what I love can be as good as the strongest medication, so that’s what I’m doing. I continue to choose to write to try to make something of this hobby. To never feel like I’ve worked a day of my life because I love what I do.

It’s like the old saying goes. “Those that mind don’t matter, and those that matter don’t mind.”

And if you do, by chance, mind what I do and have something you’d like to say to me, my email inbox is pretty empty. Please, don't be shy! Have the stones to say it to me, personally. Step in the ring and see if your arms are long enough to box with me. I'll be waiting.

Matches of the Month - July 2025

We've passed the halfway mark of 2025! Hard to believe, eh?

July wasn't really a hotbed of exciting matches for me, or at least for the stuff I was watching. I was honestly a bit worried for the first few days and weeks that I wouldn't find a lot worth ranking for my Matches of the Year tournament! But, thankfully, a few glimmering lights shone through.

But that's a topic for next week, read on today and find out which matches blew me away for the month of July.

Weekly Watchlist 059 - July 27 2025 - Hulk Hogan Special

How are things, advocates of artificial altercations?

This weeks post is going to be a rather unique one, to say the least. It will no doubt be one of my most controversial, polarizing, and harshest posts, maybe taking second place to my post-WrestleMania 41 review and goodbye to WWE. I take on the task of memorializing Hulk Hogan. Eulogizing the most important figure in wrestling, while simultaneously pulling no punches in regards to Terry Bollea.

An incredibly important wrestler. An incredibly awful human being. Today, I walk the line. I thread the needle.

Read on, my friends, about the life of Hulk Hogan.
