What's the story, friends? Welcome to the Matches of the Month for October 2025!
I'll be honest with you guys, this was a really, really tough month for me, personally. Found it really hard to find any motivation to watch anything this month. As you guys can pretty plainly see, I really only watched the weekly episodes of AEW, WrestleDream, and whatever came up for Roulette this month. That aside, I found it really hard to want to dig for anything at all. It's a work in progress, friends. But! Until we get that sorted! Here's what the month of October had on offer for quality wrestling.
Kyle Fletcher vs. Orange Cassidy - AEW Dynamite - 6 Year Anniversary - 10/01/2025
Featured in Weekly Watchlist 068 - September 28 2025
Darby Allin & Kris Statlander vs. Death Riders - 6 Year Anniversary - 10/01/2025
The match started out hot with Kris and Darbs jumping Marina and Yoots during their entrance, showing the Death Riders that their intimidation tactics won't work on this pair. It's Tornado Tag rules so all four are in action at once, with the cameras doing everything they can to keep up. Kris and Marina are intense, with Shafir taking it to the recently crowned AEW Women's World Champion. Yuta is able to do some decent damage to the living heavy bag that is Darby Allin, with Kris even getting her licks in on former best friend Yuta. The match is fast paced, intense, and the action moves all around the ring and ringside the entire time. Thoroughly enjoyable stuff from all four involved.
Kyle Fletcher vs. Kyle O'Reilly - AEW Dynamite - Title Tuesday 2025 - 10/07/2025
It should really come as no surprise that the battle of the Kyle's was as good as it was. I've talked about Fletcher enough times on this blog, giving him his flowers over and over again, but O'Reilly has been in a pretty prominent position for a good while now. Maybe not at the level of title contention just yet, but every time Kyle-O has a match, he reminds everyone that he's an exceptional singles wrestler when he's given a chance to spread his wings and soar. He gets his ass thoroughly beaten by Fletcher, but finds glimmers of hope and, when he does, he makes the absolute most of those moments. This was a real coming out party for Kyle-O, serving as a worthy opponent of Fletcher as well as a performance to remind the crowd that he'sm more than just the butt of the Conglomeration joke.
